Vendor Management for Housing and Urban Development
The Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) within the Public and Indian Housing Department (PIH), part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), needed a more modern system to manage information on the condition of HUD properties in an effort to help ensure safe, decent and affordable housing and to restore the public trust by identifying fraud, abuse and waste of HUD resources.
HighPoint provided consulting, architecture, and engineering support for the project, managing and improving REAC’s n-tier architecture. HighPoint’s process improvement efforts enabled REAC to adopt Agile methodologies in a systematic approach that did not disrupt current processes. HighPoint implemented automated testing, continuous integration / continuous delivery and other software development lifecycle (SDLC) functions within an Agile framework.
As a result of HighPoint’s work for the PIH, system interoperability and communication between PIH system contractors and the HUD architecture group have improved. The systems that support more than 3.2 million low-income families across the nation now have more accurate information to assist citizens in a more timely way.
